Amel Najjar is the CEO and founder of MedGEO, an AI-powered solution transforming operational efficiency in the operating room and across healthcare systems. She leads initiatives that integrate advanced technology, data-driven insights, and forward-thinking design to address critical healthcare challenges—improving patient care while enabling providers to enhance accuracy, transparency, and financial performance. 

With 20+ years of experience across diverse healthcare settings, from field hospitals to advanced operating rooms, Amel offers a rare perspective on systemic challenges in both resource-limited environments and cutting-edge institutions. She has led surgical teams in complex contexts, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and the delivery of care.  

Amel is also the founder of the Children of War Foundation, an international nonprofit that has impacted over 60,000 children worldwide through access to life-saving medical care and education. She serves on multiple boards, including the International Rescue Committee’s Airbel Impact Lab (IRC), which conducts 30% of global impact evaluations in humanitarian settings. At Airbel, she has co-chaired initiatives such as the Innovation Fund to develop bold solutions for crisis-affected children worldwide. 

She has worked with and advised multiple startups and nonprofits, guiding innovation strategies, technology adoption, and growth initiatives that deliver measurable impact. 

Amel holds an MBA from the University of Oxford, a certificate in AI in Healthcare from MIT Sloan, and a BA in International Relations and Political Science from UC San Diego. She is committed to leveraging data, technology, and cross-sector collaboration to create scalable, cost-effective solutions that advance equitable access to healthcare worldwide.
