Janani Reisenauer, M.D., is the Division Chair of Thoracic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She is also the world's first dual fellowship-trained and board-certified interventional pulmonologist and thoracic surgeon, and continues to advance research in the field of early detection, interception, and minimally invasive novel approaches to lung cancer treatment.

Dr. Reisenauer is passionate about making care easier and more accessible for everyone, and is easier to support technological advances that democratize care across health care disparities. As such, she is the chair of the Bold. Forward. Unbound Surgical Solutions committee, which is focused on evaluating novel technologies for the House of Surgery and advancing our future facing operating rooms in parallel with our Bold.Forward mission.

Dr. Reisenauer's commitment to innovation extends well beyond the surgical suite. As Medical Director for Research Innovation — Business Development, she leads efforts to advance and support Mayo Clinic's key strategic research priorities through a business development lens. This extends into partnerships with Destination Medical Center and the Discovery Square initiative, which focuses on economic growth and development for the City of Rochester.
